International Women In Surgery Conference 2023

Our annual Women In Surgery conference is an ongoing campaign to encourage women to pursue their dream of becoming a surgeon. Our 2023 conference focused on the theme, “The 21st Century Surgeon”.

Our International Women in Surgery Conference for 2023 took place over two days. The first day took place online and was host to an extraordinary panel of speakers, including a panel discussion covering the future of women in surgery. The second day occurred on the Barts & The London Whitechapel campus. The morning began with a shocking talk from Mr Simon Fleming, followed by a portfolio talk by Dr Aqua Asif. The afternoon then progressed into a speed mentoring event where delegates rotated between surgeons at different stages of training to hear their stories.
